Father,

Give me a heart like that of Mary’s,

Willing to agree with Your Word, Your promises, and Your intent for my life.

With Mary, there was no negotiating, no hemming or hawing, no 24 hours to think about it, no keeping her options

open.

You - You simply spoke, and she – she, indeed, unhesitatingly responded with a Yes.

You have an intent for me. That purpose - It will have its challenges, its high points and low points, its joys, and sorrows,

But, Your plan is far and above the best plan for my short life.

May my soul be Transformed into One that instantly obeys You,

Comes when You call, follows Your lead, and believes in Your Word -

Even when I cannot fully comprehend it,

Father, we ask that you give us a yearning to obey you even when we do not understand what is happening to us or what is happening around us. Lord, teach us to obey you even in the hardest times of our lives. At this present moment, it is day thirteen of the Israel-Hamas war. Lord, we know war is not what you have purposed for your children. Your holy scripture tells us “seek peace and pursue it.” (Psalm 34:14 NKJV).

Father, we pray that one of these war-engaged nations obey your holy scriptures and pursue peace so that no additional innocent blood is shed. We also pray that obedience will lead to every hostage being set free from captivity in the mighty name of Jesus.

Father, teach us to obey you when you ask us to do something that does not make sense to us. Father please forgive us because in our human frailty, we often want to make sense out of everything we see or hear. Lord, please help us to obey you when we do not hear what we expected to her or we did not see what we expected to see. Lord, you are all-knowing and all-wise. Yes Lord, we will obey your voice. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Padre, te pedimos que nos des el anhelo de obedecerte incluso cuando no entendemos lo que nos sucede o lo que sucede a nuestro alrededor. Señor, enséñanos a obedecerte incluso en los momentos más difíciles de nuestra vida. En este momento, es el día trece de la guerra entre Israel y Hamas. Señor, sabemos que la guerra no es lo que te has propuesto para tus hijos. Tu sagrada escritura nos dice “busca la paz y síguela”. (Salmo 34:14 NVI).

Padre, oramos para que una de estas naciones en guerra obedezca tus sagradas escrituras y busque la paz para que no se derrame más sangre inocente. También oramos para que la obediencia lleve a que cada rehén sea liberado del cautiverio en el poderoso nombre de Jesús.

Padre, enséñanos a obedecerte cuando nos pides que hagamos algo que no tiene sentido para nosotros.
